For instance, while knowledge gear cannot randomly roll increased knowledge, it can still roll increased memory capacity and spell casting speed, effectively achieving the same outcome. Similarly, riveted gloves can roll physical power, and leather gloves can roll magical power, despite their distinct static bonuses.
Among these discrepancies, loose trousers and lightfoot boots stand out as the most problematic, capable of rolling additional movespeed bonuses on top of their inherent boosts. While Iron Mace made some effort to address this issue, the implementation appears incomplete and insufficient to fully rectify the problem.
Moving forward, it is imperative for Iron Mace to revisit the gear balance system comprehensively. This entails revising itemization mechanics to ensure that gear bonuses align more closely with class identities and intended playstyles. Additionally, implementing stricter restrictions on movespeed bonuses, particularly for items like loose trousers and lightfoot boots, will help curb the excessive reliance on mobility in combat scenarios.
Ultimately, achieving a balanced gear ecosystem is essential for fostering a fair and engaging gameplay experience for all players. By addressing movespeed inflation and promoting diversity in gear choices, Iron Mace can enhance the strategic depth and longevity of Dark and Darker, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for its player base.
