Elden Ring: Grand Lift of Dectus

Feb-22-2025 PST Category: Elden Ring
The Grand Lift of Dectus is one of the key passageways in Elden Ring, allowing players to access the Altus Plateau. However, before you can use the lift, you'll need to obtain both halves of the Dectus Medallion. This journey involves navigating treacherous territories, overcoming enemy blockades, and collecting valuable Elden Ring runes and Elden Ring items along the way. In this guide, we'll break down how to reach the Grand Lift of Dectus, where to find the necessary medallion pieces, and what rewards you can collect throughout your adventure.

Reaching the Grand Lift of Dectus

The Grand Lift of Dectus is located at the far northeast end of the Bellum Highway. However, before you reach it, you'll need to get through a heavily fortified blockade controlled by Raya Lucaria Soldiers. This encampment is reinforced with three catapults, numerous barricades, and well-armed enemies, making it a formidable obstacle for any adventurer.

Approaching the Blockade

A direct assault on the enemy camp can be challenging due to the sheer number of enemies and their fortifications. Instead, consider taking a high path along the right side of the blockade. This route allows you to drop down near the two catapults on the right side, where you can launch a surprise attack.

Fighting Through the Blockade

Once inside the enemy encampment, you'll face multiple threats, including:

Raya Lucarian Knight on Horseback – Guards the two catapult operators. Be prepared for a tough fight.

Flame Chariot – A rolling death machine flanked by another Raya Lucarian Knight. Use a Spirit Summon to distract it while you strike from behind.

Foot Soldiers and Soldiers Protecting a Chest – Located on the east side of the blockade, they guard a Great Mace.

Sentry on the Western Catapult – This enemy can sound an alarm and summon reinforcements. Take them out quickly.

Hidden Rewards in the Blockade

While fighting through the blockade, be sure to explore thoroughly, as you'll find several valuable items:

Cerulean Teardrop Scarab – Behind one of the eastern tents.

Cuckoo Glintstone (x3) – Found on a corpse near the last catapult on the west side.

Crimson Teardrop Scarab – Hiding on a ledge below the cliff near the western blockade.

Rune Arc – Located on a body near the giant tombstones to the south.

These Elden Ring Items can be incredibly useful for enhancing your character's abilities and progression.

Unlocking the Grand Lift of Dectus

After clearing the blockade, you'll reach the steps leading to the Grand Lift of Dectus. Here, you'll find Dragonwound Grease, a useful consumable that boosts damage against dragons. However, the lift itself will not function unless you have the Dectus Medallion, which is split into two halves.

Dectus Medallion Locations

To activate the lift, you must collect both pieces of the Dectus Medallion, found in:

    Fort Haight (East Limgrave)

This fort is located in the southeastern part of Limgrave.

The left half of the Dectus Medallion is found inside a chest at the top of the fort.

Be prepared to fight through numerous Godrick Soldiers to claim it.

    Fort Faroth (Dragonbarrow, Northern Caelid)

This fort is located in the dangerous Caelid region, filled with poisonous enemies and aggressive foes.

The right half of the Dectus Medallion is found inside a chest at the top of this fort.

You'll encounter several Bat enemies and the fearsome Radahn Soldiers inside.

Once you have both halves of the medallion, return to the Grand Lift of Dectus, stand on the circular platform, and raise the medallion to activate the lift. This will grant you access to the Altus Plateau, where even greater challenges and rewards await.

Extra Rewards Near the Grand Lift

Before leaving the area, make sure to check the small woods just left of the lift. Here, you'll find a Scarab that drops a Somber Smithing Stone (3)—an essential material for upgrading special weapons.

Additionally, the enemies in the area drop a good amount of Elden Ring Runes, which can help boost your character's level before venturing into the Altus Plateau.

Final Tips for the Grand Lift of Dectus

Prepare for Tough Battles – The blockade before the lift is heavily guarded, so approach with caution.

Explore for Hidden Items – The area contains valuable weapons, consumables, and upgrade materials.

Don't Forget the Medallion – The lift won't function without both halves of the Dectus Medallion, so be sure to visit Fort Haight and Fort Faroth first.

Use Torrent Wisely – Your spectral steed can help you maneuver quickly through enemy-infested areas.

With the Grand Lift of Dectus activated, you'll have taken a significant step forward in your journey through Elden Ring. The Altus Plateau holds new mysteries, powerful foes, and invaluable Elden Ring items to discover. So gear up, gather your runes, and prepare for the next chapter of your adventure!
